Jim Bruce and Brett Ian Taylor. What have they done since then? Don't ask.
We currently have beta version 3 of SnakeBall for Windows. Currently I'm not anticipating having the opportunity to work on it any further. If you really want me to do some more development, maybe I will.
SUN 27 AUG 2000, 00:24 UTC.
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Windows >= 95 or NT >=4, but >=2000 is better. 800 × 600 × 256 or better is recommended. It should work in 640 × 480, but the screen won't quite be large enough.
HOW TO PLAY: Hit ball into opponent's goal to score. W, A, D, and S control Blue Snake 1 by default, and the arrow keys control Green Snake 1. Click Snakes on the main menu to see and change details of each snake. Click Options to control rings, bombs, balls, and win properties. The yellow ring adds bomb resistance when a snake touches it. The Options dialog also lets you change the game speed, anywhere from 0 to 100. Use F11 and F12 during the game to fine tune the speed. In the board editor, use the left mouse button or the spacebar to draw and the right button or Enter to pick up a block from the board. Click the blocks in the lower left to select them or use PgUp and PgDn. Click the mirroring display or press M to cycle through the mirroring choices. Click Done or press Esc to return.
KNOWN ISSUES: It is still slow on Win95 and Win98. This appears to be some Windows thing. It works splendidly on NT4 and Win2000, so if you're still using an old OS, get with the programme.
UNKNOWN ISSUES: If you find a bug, please tell me about it at snakeball@goobnet.net, and I'll do something about it.
UPCOMING FEATURES: A better board editor, menus, and dialogs are coming if and when SnakeBall development resumes.
